Scott holds a Ph.D. in both Marriage and Family Therapy and Social Work from Florida State University. He has over 20 publications and has authored two books entitled: Treating the Tough Adolescent: A Family-Based, Step-by-Step Guide (Guilford Press, 1998) and Parenting Your Out-of-Control Teenager: 7 Steps to Reestablish Authority and Reclaim Love (St. Martin’s Press, 2001). Scott specializes in working with impossible or stuck cases whose families have not been successful with other counselors. Scott was a former Professor of Social Work at Savannah State University in Savannah, GA and Associate Professor at UNLV in Las Vegas, NV. He founded the Parenting with Love and Limits (PLL) model that is being used across the US and Europe. Scott enjoys hiking in Montana, writing, spending quality time with God, and being a husband and parent to his twin boys: David and Jonathon.
John Burek holds a Master’s degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Nova Southeastern University, a Bachelor’s degree in Pastoral Ministries from Southeastern University and has been working in the social services field for the last 16 years. John has been involved with PLL since 2007 when his social service company was selected to implement PLL for the alternative to placement and reentry populations. In 2010, John moved from the service delivery provider role over to Parenting with Love and Limits full time where he currently serves as President. One of the strongest attributes about John (and the entire PLL team), is the intense desire and passion to help the most hurting families in the country.
Ellen Souder is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with a Supervisory Endorsement. Ellen has worked with Dr. Sells and the Parenting with Love and Limits model since 2005. She has assisted Dr. Sells in the development of the Parenting with Love and Limits Treatment Model and System of Care, co-authoring the Family Therapy Coaching Manual and an upcoming Trauma Care book. Ellen has conducted trainings in implementing Parenting with Love and Limits in over 20 states as well as in the Netherlands, and has trained over 150 clinicians in the use of the PLL model. In addition to specializing in treating families and their adolescents, Ellen enjoys being a wife of over 35 years to her husband, Bruce, and grandmother to her grandchildren.
Bob holds a Bachelors degree in Finance from the University of Arizona and has been working with PLL since 2010. Bob has also owned, operated, and managed other businesses prior to joining PLL, and enjoys his role in being able to help restore hurting families. In his role with PLL, Bob has overseen the development of PLL’s one-of-a-kind dashboard and data management system. In addition to his passion for business operations, Bob enjoys time with his family, participating in outdoor activities, and is an accomplished triathlete.
Monti has been working in the Juvenile Justice industry since 1996 and has been a director of both day treatment and residential facilities. In his role as Director of Implementation, he partners with new PLL providers and develops strategies to identify and overcome implementation and transportability barriers. Monti holds a master's degree in business administration and bachelor's degree in anthropology.
